London-based Fractile raised $220M led by Accel, Founders Fund, and Factorial Funds to develop AI inference chips targeting 1,200 tokens/sec for long-context tasks like drug discovery. Founded by Oxford's Walter Goodwin, the startup aims to deliver 25-30x speedups over GPUs at lower cost. Expansion planned in UK, US, and Taiwan with first systems launching soon.
